In a near-future Britain that has deported all “non-British” people, a timid teenage boy hides the last Black woman in the country. Isolated, afraid, and caught between the ghost of his father and the reality of the woman he is hiding, he is forced toward a single, impossible act of defiance. When his 2000s-R&B-loving fascist father dies, he brings her to the wake — to sing. What follows is a tightening spiral of loyalty, identity, and violence: a satirical, blood-warm fable about the Britain we are becoming, told through a twisted retelling of Macbeth.
